Twinkie banana bread, from Gael

Twinkie banana bread, from Gael

This is from Real Simple magazine, November 2004. I made it in July 2009 and didn't like it as much as I like my from-scratch banana bread (Erin's!), but Rob wanted to keep in on hand because it tastes scarily like Twinkies.

1 box yellow cake mix
1 package Jell-O Instant Banana Cream Pudding & Pie Filling (they didn't specify a size box but I used the larger because I couldn't find a small box of banana pudding.)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 ripe bananas, mashed
4 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Heat oven to 350° F.

Mix all the ingredients well. Pour into 2 large or 4 small greased loaf pans.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. (Note from Gael: More like an hour.)
