Bobby Fashingbauer's Chow Mein

From 1950s. Mom (2007) says this was very good. No ingredient proportions given!

Brown meat with lots of onions. Add 4-5 T soy sauce, 1 c water. Simmer 2 minutes. Add chopped celery, pimento if desired.

Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add chicken bouillion cube. Then add bean sprouts, mushrooms and other chow mein vegetables.


Thicken with cornstarch, about 2 T in 1/4 c water.
