FILLING
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 package dates
1 cup sugar

DOUGH
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats
Boil filling ingredients until mushy, then cool.
Dough: Roll thin and cut. Put tsp of filling on each and fold over. Bake until light brown.
